What is totally acceptable at a wedding today that would not have been seen or done 50 years ago?
Save the date photography sessions…
Two men or two women getting married to each other.
Any function other than the thaalikettu (no henna function, no wedding eve, no sangeet, no reception, nothing)
The bride wearing a colorful silk bridal saree. This was gaining popularity 50 years ago, but the popular choice was still traditional Kerala cotton.
The bride and groom making any kind of body contact during the wedding function… or even looking at each other and smiling or talking to each other.
Guests attending the wedding without gifts for the couple.
Getting married to anyone outside one’s own tightly-knit social circle.
Getting married without getting horoscopes matched for the ten-point compatibility check.
Getting married anywhere other than at a temple or at the bride’s residence.
Drones and other AV equipment.
Wedding being managed by event management companies.
Pre-wedding and/or Save-The-Date photoshoots…
And post-wedding photoshoots…
